Valerie O'Riordan is mostly to be found scavenging chocolate from vending machines. Here's a brief and messy biography [click].
I'm a writer who also teaches creative writing at the University of Manchester, where I'm doing my PhD (due to complete in early 2016). My chapbook, Enough, was published by Gumbo Press (May 2012), and is available both in paperback and for the Kindle. Some people have said nice things about it. I also run occasional creative writing workshops, and I'm available for manuscripts appraisals, should you want such a thing. Contact me at valerie.oriordan at gmail.com and/or follow me on Twitter. Go on.
What, more? Well, this one time I won the Bristol Short Story Prize (anthology here). I've been shortlisted in the flash fiction category in the Bridport Prize (2010, 2013, 2014) and I've got stories in various off- and on-line places - most recently in Fugue, Sou'wester and FRiGG. I'm co-editor, with Peter Wild, of Bookmunch, a long-running book review site. Click here to see a list of my reviews. And I'm a member of the online writing collective, The Fiction Forge.
